Why blog, why now?

Update for 2012: Still cooking, cleaning much less, exploring more via internet than anywhere else, but always attempting to nurture my family and trying to figure out when and how to say "no" to some of the demands on all of us.

Update for 2011: I am now part-time, on-site employee to one who never seems to be home. Still cooking, cleaning, exploring, and nurturing my family, but in half the time with twice the work.

Why not?

The world doesn't need another person rambling about the minutia of her days, but I've taken 2010 to be the year I do things a little differently. To that end, the blog. I've been thinking about it for years, and here it is world: a little, virtual slice of me, written largely for me. And anyone else who may be interested.

About Me... I am a married woman in my late 30s, mother to one, and part-time, off-site employee to two. I live in the urban-yet-suburban portion of Virginia right outside of Washington, DC also known as Northern Virginia or NoVA. I cook, I clean, I work, I read and I try hard to make my family comfortable, my child strong, and remember who I am. That last part has been shifted aside for a bit, but I'm working on it.
